Covid 19 Lockdown Photoshoot

2016 Yamaha R1 Photoshoot Melbourne

During the ongoing Covid 19 lockdown restrictions i got quite desperate to ride my bike and also take photos, I decided to take matters into my own hands and setup a quick photoshoot with my 2016 Yamaha R1. This was also good chance to test out the new Godox AD360 Flash’s i had purchased just before the lockdown. The following photos were achieved during the day in my driveway using 2x Godox AD360 and 1x Godox AD200 flash units. The thing i love about these modern flash units is the Hi Speed sync function which allows me to shoot at F2.8 on my 200mm lens which really lets me seperate the subject from the background. I’m looking forward to spending more time getting to know this Godox flash system, so far i’m very impressed.

21 Years of the Yamaha R1

1998 - 2015 Yamaha R1 - Photoshoot

A few years ago private collector and club racer, Richard, contacted me to shoot his collection of Yamaha R1’s. Well fast forward 2 years after that shoot and he has expanded and updated his Yamaha collection. What we have here is his tribute to the original 1998 R1. And what better way to do that than an original 1998 Yamaha R1 and a 2015 R1M with custom paint and graphics in the 1998 R1 colour scheme. We also have his 2015 R1 Race Bike looking very different to the way it did back in 2017.

The images that follow are my tribute to these machines and one of my all time favourite motorcycle manufactures.

R1 vs R1 vs R1- The story of a Yamaha fan boy

I was lucky enough to have to opportunity to shoot a stable of R1's. My friend Richard is a Yamaha nutter and these are just 3 from his collection. Richard and myself have had heaps of fun battling it out on track at Phillip Island trying to best each other's PB's...and this 2015 R1 Track bike is his weapon of choice and makes my RSV4 seem super slow down the chute at P.I  What I shot on the day was his 15 Yamaha R1M, his 15 Yamaha R1 race bike (dripping with Ohlins goodness) and his 2012 R1 race bike (again dripping with Ohlins and aftermarket goodness) This guy certainly doesn't fuck around. Hope you enjoy the pics.
