Retrobike Magazine feature article

MY FIRST PUBLISHED PHOTOSHOOT

I'm excited to have my first ever magazine photoshoot published in the latest October issue of Retro Bike magazine. Its such a great feeling to see images i’ve shot in print format and not through a computer screen. Theres just something about a physical print that is so appealing. A big thanks to Jonny Taylor for building such an amazing custom bike that photographs so well. This current issue of Retrobike is in stores now so if you feel like it grab yourself a copy to read all about the build and look at some pretty pictures.

The rest of the shoot is up on my previous blog post from earlier this year, it features many more of my favourite shots that were not included in the magazine.

CUSTOM YAMAHA TRX CAFE RACER

MV Agusta 'Pirelli Edition' and Stunt Rider

A lazy Sunday afternoon chasing some golden hour lighting with the MV Agusta 2018 Limited Edition Pirelli 800RR Brutale with sponsored stuntman Lukey Luke.  We only had an hour to quickly whip up some images in the fading sunlight. This bike is absolutely stunning a piece of art with the performance to match its looks and if you look closely enough you can tell my his expression that Lukey just might be enjoying himself.

Head over to www.llstunt.com to keep up to date with this crazy cat

Murray Valley Track Day

I recently had the chance to get a taste of the Murray Valley Training Centre and ride this awesome little track. For a few years now i have heard only great things about the track and it sure didn't disappoint. It's so technical and tight but so so much fun once you link up all the turns correctly. Its mainly a 2nd gear track and teaches great smooth throttle control as you can only use full throttle 10% of the time and i only click up into 3rd for a few seconds. The track is hard work (compared to a larger circuit) on a 1000cc but was much easier than i expected which i attribute to the amazing Race Centre suspension setup i'm running on my RSV4.

When i wasn't out on track i decided to snap a few pics around the pit exit to practice some slow shutter and rear curtain sync flash shots. The following images are just a few of them and dont cover the scope of a full days photographic coverage at the track.

I can’t wait to make the journey up to Murray Valley Training Co again as its an absolute blast and i can see it really improving my riding. Big thanks to the legends that make it all happen.

Head to the Murray Valley Training Centre website for more info and their upcoming dates

Norton Commando 961 Sport Photoshoot

Promotional photoshoot of the Norton Commando 961

Last week i had the special opportunity to shoot the new Norton Commando 961 Sport MkII for the new Melbourne dealer Benzina Garage. What a beautiful hand built machine this is, the attention to detail and craftsmanship is stunning. In the next few weeks i’m looking forward to taking some more shots of these machines in some different locations around the streets of Melbourne. For now check out the official Norton Australia website or head over to Benzina Garage to check out these sweet machines in person, maybe if you ask nicely enough they will let you take one for a test ride.

Benzina Cantina Grand Opening

After months of preparation Benzina Cantina finally had their Grand Opening last Saturday night and what a night it was i'm still recovering. DJ's, Mariachis and many shots of Tequila the place was packed to the brim even though the weather was freezing. I was on hand to capture the night but most of all to enjoy and catch up with good friends. Heres a small sample of how the night unfolded.

Concrete Playground just wrote an article featuring some of my shots, click the link below to read all about Benzina.

Custom Yamaha TRX Photoshoot

Does it get anymore customized than this? I don't think there is one part of this 1996 Yamaha TRX 850 that has not been modified.  It starts with extensive engine work - high comp pistons + flatside carbs and head work - Triumph 675R Ohlins front end and brakes - CBR1000RR rims -Race Centre modified R6 Ohlins rear shock - Custom hand made exhaust - custom subframe - chopped and modified tank - Harley headlight - Ducati Master cylinder. The list goes on and on and is absolutely incredible.

I had the chance to shoot this amazing bike for Johnny Taylor. Jonny is an accomplished road racer who built the bike himself over 4  years. Everything on the bike had a purpose to make it go harder, handle and stop better (plus it also looks sexy).  This bike will be featured in an upcoming issue of RetroBike magazine in October, i'm pretty excited to see my photos in print.

In the mean time you can read more about Johnnys bike over at Return of the Cafe Racer in their writeup on his bike HERE
