ON LOCATION COMMERCIAL Lifestyle photoshoot for Malvern Star
Ok so I’m a little late with getting this up on my blog but back in October 2017 Freestyle Photography was hired to shoot stills content for Australia’s oldest bicycle brand Malvern Star Cycles. Their parent company Sheppard Cycles are Australasia’s largest cycling company and distributor. Meeting the marketing team before the shoot we organised locations, riders and the products to be shot, in the end we set up this shoot on a really tight budget and nailed all we needed to with an early start before sunrise and a finish just before sunset. The shots created were used for the 2018 range of bikes for use in dealer catalogues, in store, the MalvernStar website and also their social media accounts. There was a wide range of bikes that all needed to be shot in a lifestyle/outside environment ranging from cycle cross and gravel bikes, city commuters, a Womens E-Bike prototype, heritage ladies bikes and a few children’s bikes. Working with the team was great and we came away with some fantastic images for the client.
Fitted Festival 2019 - Melbourne Airport
Fitted Festival is an outdoor automotive and lifestyle festival that this February was held for the first time in Melbourne at the Airport. Hundreds of modified JDM, Australian and American Muscle cars were on show. I ended up shooting some snaps from the morning rain to the golden sunset. Its always so difficult shooting at car shows as there are always distractions in the background which take away from the car you are shooting. There truly were some amazing cars on hand that i'd love to spend time with for a proper photoshoot.

Avalon International Airshow 2019
The Australian International Airshow 2019
Every 2 years the Airshow rolls into town. I hadn’t been since 2015 so it was great to visit again. Although the weather was a stinking hot 39 degree i managed to snap a few photos of the action from the day. Was great to see the legendary F22 Raptor in action alongside the RAAF’s latest addition to its fleet the F35.

Saint Side 10 year Street Party
10th Annual Saint Side Show and Shine
The John St Show and Shine street party just keeps getting bigger and better every year. Held once annually the Show & Shine is a celebration of custom bicycles spanning a 100-metre strip mall in the Melbourne suburb of St Albans. Also including a car show focusing on the best of Americana, west coast, custom and vintage lifestyles, the event is a truly unique and well-loved day in the west.
I have loved seeing how each year the event has evolved to become bigger and better just like the S/S brand. I recently looked back at the photos i shot at the 1st Saint Side Show and Shine back in 2010. Needless to say my photos were pretty rubbish haha.
Although i processed most the photos from the day in colour i decided to redo the whole set in Black & White for a change. I hope you enjoy.

BMW R Nine T Stunt Photoshoot
Sunset shoot with BMW Sponsored Stunt Rider ‘Lukey Luke’
Last week i had the pleasure of shooting with Australia’s top Stunt Rider and all round legend Lukey Luke. Luke recently signed on with BMW Motorrad as their Stunt Rider and brand ambassador a first of their kind in Australia. So naturally we headed out to capture some images of Luke doing what he does for his new branding. Featured here is the brand new BMW R Nine T ‘Racer’ being put through its paces and doing things it was never designed to do.
I’m excited that these images are going to be featured in the official BMW Motorrad Australia press release and marketing material. It’s always a pleasure to work with someone as extremely talented as Luke as he makes getting that shot so easy, once he gets his BMW F800R Stunt Bike finished we will be bringing you some more great shots.

Big Shot Van - Launch Party
Mobile Coffee Truck and Bar ‘ BIG SHOT’ launch Party and event coverage
The Big Shot Van is my little brothers latest business venture with his good friend Mike. On Sunday the 2nd December the official launch party at Benzina Cantina in Preston took place with a crowd of friends and family.
The van itself is a 1969 Citroen HY Van that has been painstakingly restored and fitted with an amazing interior fit-out. The boys bring a unique Melbourne café experience to you, providing top quality coffee and tasty treats, and also offering an exclusive bar service tailored to suit any kind of special event. It’s been a long journey for Chris and Mike to get the van from idea to finished product but the fruits of their labour all came together when the van “Bernie” was on display for all to see.
I was on hand for the launch day drinking the delicious Espresso Martinis that the boys had prepared and managed to snap a few shots.

2018 Geelong Revival - Motoring Festival
2018 GEELONG REVIVAL
Last Sunday the annual Geelong Revival Motoring festival was held at the Geelong Foreshore. Ive been meaning to check this event out for a few years now and finally had the opportunity. What an amazing event held in such a picturesque part of Geelong. The relaxed vibe and smell of fuel and rubber created a great atmosphere for young and old.
The mix of eclectic classic and modern cars and bikes really make the event what is is. I will definitely be back again next year.
In the mean time here are a handful of snaps from the days sprints.
2018 Phillip Island MotoGP
Motoheaven’s 2018 MotoGP VIP Marquee
Late last month i had the opportunity to shoot the 2018 Phillip Island MotoGP for Motoheaven at their VIP marquee. It was a crazy few days spent trackside on the Gardner straight drinking many beers lucky i also managed to take a few photos along the way. Once again thanks to Adrian and the crew at MotoHeaven for their hospitality it was such a great way to experience the GP with a great bunch of people. Im already counting down the days till the next one.
