McLaren F1 - Front Cover Editorial

It was a humbling experience being one of only a handful of people to spend some alone time photographing the only McLaren F1 in Australia for the front cover and feature of Issue 4 of Benzina Magazine . Being trusted around this 20 million dollar car with only a short time to produce these images was certainly stressful however i’m really pleased with the outcome for the client. Thanks again Jack and Barry for the opportunity to photograph this automotive icon.

1984 Kawasaki Z1300 - Retrobike Magazine Photoshoot

After almost 4 months of strict lockdown here in Melbourne, we were finally let outside in late October 2020. This magazine photoshoot was my first shoot back after this long break and i must admit it did feel foreign and i did feel a bit rusty.

These images were taken for the January 2021 Issue of Retrobike Magazine which should be hitting newsagents in the next 2 weeks. Once again thanks to the bikes owner Greg for having such an eclectic range of bikes in his collection. You can check out Gregs Triumph X75 that was featured in a past issue of the same magazine from the following link

1970 Plymouth Road Runner 440+6 - Photographed for Mopar Action Magazine

The Plymouth Roadrunner is quite a rare sight here on Australian roads, what makes this 1970 model even more special is the spec it left the factory coming with a 440+6 drivetrain, manual gearbox and air grabber. The cars owner Brian is an avid muscle car collector and restorer. He travelled to New York state to collect the car and then drove it across to the west coast of the USA and shipped it back here to Melbourne, Australia. As the car was in average condition it was treated to a full restoration undertaken by Brian at his workshop . Finished in its original blue paint its great to see this American classic is driven regularly, just the way all cars should be.

This shoot was commissioned by US Publication Mopar Action Magazine , luckily we had a chance to shoot this car just before the Covid 19 lockdowns began.

BMW R80 G/S Feature for Motorcycle Trader Magazine

A very cold wet & day was spent at the track back in September capturing images for the October issue of Motorcycle Trader Magazine. This shoot was broken into two parts. Part 1 was to capture images for an editorial documenting a returning rider participating in a riders training course at Broadford State Motorcycle Complex. Magazine editor Chris took park in the rider training on track but he also required images for the feature on his 1986 BMW R80 G/S Paris Dakar and its upgraded suspension. Seeing as though it was a wet and miserable September day we decided to shoot the bike in its natural habitat, off road. Lucky for us the grounds of the Broadford State Motorcycle complex also works as the perfect terrain for an adventure bike shoot.

Keen to Follow the adventures of Chris and his immaculate R80 ? Check him out HERE or in the latest issue of Motorcycle Trader Magazine

Front Cover Feature for Motorcycle Trader Magazine Issue 350

In September my photos were used for the front cover of Australian Publication Motorcycle Trader Magazine. Featuring some shots from my previous shoot with Richards Fleet of R1’s along with some new photos that were taken just for the magazine feature. Very glad that we could get Richards R1s featured in and immortalised in print as I have learned he has recently sold the 1998 Model.

MY FIRST PUBLISHED PHOTOSHOOT

I'm excited to have my first ever magazine photoshoot published in the latest October issue of Retro Bike magazine. Its such a great feeling to see images i’ve shot in print format and not through a computer screen. Theres just something about a physical print that is so appealing. A big thanks to Jonny Taylor for building such an amazing custom bike that photographs so well. This current issue of Retrobike is in stores now so if you feel like it grab yourself a copy to read all about the build and look at some pretty pictures.

The rest of the shoot is up on my previous blog post from earlier this year, it features many more of my favourite shots that were not included in the magazine.

CUSTOM YAMAHA TRX CAFE RACER

Custom Yamaha TRX Photoshoot

Does it get anymore customized than this? I don't think there is one part of this 1996 Yamaha TRX 850 that has not been modified.  It starts with extensive engine work - high comp pistons + flatside carbs and head work - Triumph 675R Ohlins front end and brakes - CBR1000RR rims -Race Centre modified R6 Ohlins rear shock - Custom hand made exhaust - custom subframe - chopped and modified tank - Harley headlight - Ducati Master cylinder. The list goes on and on and is absolutely incredible.

I had the chance to shoot this amazing bike for Johnny Taylor. Jonny is an accomplished road racer who built the bike himself over 4  years. Everything on the bike had a purpose to make it go harder, handle and stop better (plus it also looks sexy).  This bike will be featured in an upcoming issue of RetroBike magazine in October, i'm pretty excited to see my photos in print.

In the mean time you can read more about Johnnys bike over at Return of the Cafe Racer in their writeup on his bike HERE
